I'm American and my BF is Arab Of course we have to different mind set of a relationship, but I'm trying to cope w/ things that he wants, We broke up 2 nights ago b/c he's against me having guy friends, and something happened when I was w/ 2 girls & 1 guy, the guy was one of the girls driver, so he thought mlaybe I was w/ a guy, I've been trying to plead my case & get him to understand .. ast night he asked me a reason why we should get back together, I got quiet & idk what to say .. ADVICE plz
It all depends on what you want and because you didn’t say anything to his question says it all. If you don’t want to be with him, then don’t. He asked you to give him a reason and you couldn’t. If you did wanted to get back with him you would say things like: I’m lost without you, I love being with you, You make me happy… blah, blah, blah etc. It’s simple… either you want to be with him… or you don’t. It all sounds like unnecessary drama to me though. Not real love.

Being in a Mexican/Black relationship is unique to me as well as every interracial relationship. i’m so grateful to have him in my life and even now we still get a few glares or words from family but what matters is that we love each other more than anyone could imagine. <3

Wow thank you! I wish I'd known about this blog during my last relationship. He of Irish decent & myself of Jamaican decent; we didn’t have much encouragement. Intercultural dating was a first for both of us. I have very few friends to begin with & his were less than supportive constantly questioning & disrespecting our relationship. This site would have been a wonderful relief to my doubts. :)

Hey there! I'd like some advice on helping my parents be more open-minded to the idea of me marrying outside of my race. I'm a 20-year-old Pakistani girl, who's only real restriction I put on myself is my religion. I'm really tight with my beliefs, so I prefer to marry within it, but I care not for color. However, my parents, being raised in a third-world country, aren't okay with this. I'm not looking to marry anytime soon, but I'd like to be able to choose beyond my caste, and my race.
You’re an adult and therefore you are entitled to feel, say, and do what you feel is right. If you’re parents disown you for loving someone outside of your race, then let them. Eventually they will realize what they’ve done and will gradually began to deal with your decision. Love is love. And your parents will realize that. Just don’t expect it to be easy. Focus on why you’re doing it. Keep your head held high, girl. Good luck. :)
